and humidityETI’s Intelligent Power Products

Energy Technologies’ forte is the design and manufacture of rugged, high reliability products for critical applications in both normal and hostile environments. ETI’s power products, available as either standard or custom versions, include AC and DC Power Distribution Units (PDU), Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS), Integrated Power Systems (IPS),
Frequency Converters, Power Conditioners and AC or DC Power Supplies.

Each of these products are available with integrated intelligent features. These features integrate the ability to monitor and control unit operations, site or equipment temperatures and humidity as well as safety interlocks. Monitoring can be digital status (on/off) and analog values (such as voltage, current, frequency, etc.)

Alarm features includes flashing LEDs, audible annunciation, alarm acknowledgement and alarm contacts. Control functions include manual and automatic on/off operation, load shedding, load sequencing and automatic shutdown.

Communications interface can be as simple as wet or dry contacts to SNMP MIB via Ethernet.

Intelligent Monitoring

To keep the operator informed of unit status, ETI’s intelligent units monitor many critical parameters such as:

  • AC Input Voltage, Current or Frequency
  • AC Output Voltage, Current or Frequency
  • DC Output Voltage or Current
  • DC Battery Voltage or Current
  • Battery Temperature
  • Overtemperature Override (Battleshort)
  • AC Input Failure or Low AC Input
  • Bulk Load Monitoring
  • Individual Load Status (On or Off)
  • Low Battery Voltage
  • Equipment Ambient Temperature
  • Equipment Internal Air Temperature
  • Equipment Ambient Humidity

Remote Control Capabilities

Manually or automatically controlled via user programmed sequences and priorities.

  • Timed startup sequences are used to bring loads online in order, while allowing time delays between loads.
  • Unit’s software can be programmed to automatically turn loads On / Off depending on circumstances:
    • Timed sequencing loads during startup
    • Timed sequencing loads for shutdown
    • Load shedding for overload or conserve battery
    • Control features are password protected
    • Controlled outputs, Emergency Power Off (EPO) and Alarm Reset

Smart Power Management

ETI’s power products can incorporate remote power management :

  • Providing status of the power quality
  • Allowing remote control to reboot or cycle power from a central location.

Communication Interfaces

  • Ethernet using these protocols:
    • SNMP: (Simple Network Management Protocol)
    • HTTP: (Web Browser)
    • Telnet: Basic paramaters and info, load on/off
  • RS-232: basic information via ANSI terminal software.

Output Control Functions

  • Individual On / Off commands
  • Group On / Off commands
  • All On / Off commands
  • Cycle Power / Reboot commands

RS232 or SNMP MIB Protocol Monitoring and Control

  • In / Out Voltages
  • In / Out Currents
  • Temperatures
  • Ambient Humidity
  • On / Off Status
  • In / Out Frequencies
  • Programmable Features
  • Alarm Setpoints and Status
  • Event Time/Date Stamping
  • On / Off Control of Loads

Command Center Monitoring

ETI’s units can be configured to monitor and control individual units or multiple units as in FOB or TOC microgrids. Operators in a command center can remotely monitor and control individual units as well as multiple power systems.

Event History Logs

History files of events and alarms with time and date stamps. Information can be useful for troubleshooting a given location. Logs are accessible via SNMP MIB or HTTP.
